To Know Your “Why?”

As humans, we have something to offer our communities, families, and the world.  But, not understanding what we have to offer makes it very difficult to make moves for progress toward making a difference.  Knowing your “why” or your purpose is essential.  This provides the opportunity with the understanding of making a difference in your life as well as others.

It has been pointed out that when you know your why, your what becomes more impactful because you’re walking towards or in your purpose. Again, it’s imperative to understand your “why.” Knowing or understanding what you do is one thing but knowing your “why” is epic!

So, you might be asking the question, “So what is your why JT?”  The aspect that I find most pertinent is the understanding of the rationale behind one’s actions; this comprehension significantly enhances the impact of one’s endeavors. For me, these words symbolize a form of self-identification or a means through which I recognize my character. It was my passion for the creation and documentation of music that led me to realize that music-making and performance are my primary pursuits. I am driven by a profound desire to sow seeds of inspiration and encouragement into the hearts and minds of the next generation. It is not merely about imparting knowledge; it is about fostering a spirit of curiosity and resilience that empowers young individuals to reach for their dreams.

I aim to uplift the standard of gratitude, teaching them to appreciate the beauty in life’s simple moments and the contributions of those around them. By instilling a sense of self-efficacy, I want them to understand that their efforts matter and that their voices can create waves of change.

Moreover, I strive to elevate the standard of self-awareness, guiding them to discover their passions and strengths and allowing them to navigate their paths with confidence. Music, a universal language that transcends boundaries, plays a pivotal role in this journey. I see it as a powerful tool to connect, communicate, and express emotions—a way to keep alive the rich tapestry of human experience.

My mission is to ensure that the next generation not only appreciates music but also harnesses its potential to inspire and uplift themselves and others. By nurturing these values, I hope to cultivate a future filled with creativity, compassion, and an unwavering belief in the power of their contributions to the world.  That is my “Why”.
